A Encantada is a private artist’s house, imagined as a place for creativity, contemplation and sharing in the heart of the Serra do Açor, Central Portugal. Set in the mountain landscape of Alqueve, the house was conceived not as a traditional holiday rental, but as a place to experience and feel. Stone, wood, natural materials, light, carefully chosen objects and handcrafted elements create a distinctive atmosphere deeply connected to creativity. At the heart of the property is a 50 m² versatile Creative Space, designed to accommodate everything from movement practices and workshops to writing, artistic creation, collective reflection and small-group work. It opens onto a 50 m² covered panoramic terrace with a private spa, overlooking the surrounding mountains. The different spaces of the house, the terrace, garden, living room, kitchen, bedrooms and outdoor areas, have been designed so that everyday life itself becomes part of the experience: working, creating, sharing a meal, reading, contemplating the landscape, talking or simply taking time to slow down. A Encantada is particularly suited to yoga, meditation, mindfulness, breathwork and wellness retreats, as well as couples retreats, writing retreats, artistic and creative projects, and small professional or creative gatherings. The entire venue is offered exclusively to each group. Up to 5 guests can stay on site in three bedrooms. For retreats of up to 10 participants, additional accommodation can be arranged independently with nearby guesthouses. The base rate is €550 per night for exclusive use of the entire property. The retreat leader or organiser remains responsible for the programme and activities. External practitioners, treatments and catering can be arranged on request. What parts of the property are accessible to retreat guests?

Participants have access to all private areas of A Encantada during their stay, as the entire property is exclusively reserved for their group. They can enjoy the 50 m² Creative Space, the 50 m² covered panoramic terrace with private spa, the various terraces and outdoor areas, the garden, as well as the living spaces of the house: living room, kitchen, dining area and bedrooms. The entire property is designed to allow participants to move naturally between activity, rest, shared moments and quiet contemplation, in a peaceful and private environment. A Encantada is fully private for each group: no other guests or groups share the property or its spaces during the retreat.

Participants or organisers can contact me at any time in case of an urgent issue concerning the property, safety or the operation of the facilities. For non-urgent questions or requests, it is preferable to contact me during the daytime, so that I can respond in the best possible conditions. I remain available throughout the retreat for any needs related to the venue, while allowing the group to enjoy its privacy and independence.

Any special instructions for the retreat guests to be aware of?

A Encantada is a private house designed to offer peace, privacy and respect for the surrounding environment. We ask participants to take care of the property and its atmosphere, as they would in a home entrusted to them. Quiet hours are particularly important between 10:00 pm and 8:00 am, in order to preserve the tranquillity of the property and the surrounding area. Outdoor areas, the terrace and the spa should be used respectfully and according to the instructions provided upon arrival. Candles and any open flames must be extinguished after use.
