Hello, I'm Daniela & Frank McClintock.

Meet Your Hosts – Daniela & Frank Hi​,​ I’m Daniela​,​ and together with my husband Frank—who founded this project in 1987—we are delighted to be your hosts during your stay. I was born in Vienna​,​ Austria​,​ in 1971​,​ and in my early twenties​,​ I discovered my passion for alternative medicine and healthy food. This led me to study and work at the Tomas Nelisson Shiatsu Center in Vienna​,​ where I deepened my knowledge and practice. During this time​,​ I also trained under Grandmaster Wang Dongfeng​,​ studying Tai Chi​,​ Chi Kung​,​ and Wushu​,​ while working as a macrobiotic chef in various wellness centers across Vienna. In 2000​,​ after the birth of my second daughter​,​ my family and I moved to Portugal in search of a life closer to nature. Five years later​,​ after navigating personal challenges and welcoming my third child​,​ I met my now-husband Frank—the owner and manager of Paradise in Portugal​,​ which soon became home for me and my children. Together​,​ we not only raised our family but also expanded and developed this beautiful retreat into what it is today. Frank’s love for nature and birdwatching​,​ combined with my passion for alternative medicine and holistic healing​,​ has shaped Paradise in Portugal into a sanctuary where guests can reconnect with themselves and the natural world.
